Показатель, характеризующий неравенство доходов населения, т.е. степень отклонения фактического распределения денежных доходов от равномерного. Д.к. рассчитывается с помощью т.н. кривой Лоренца (см. рис. к статье Лоренца кривая). Если у всех граждан доходы одинаковы, то коэффициент Джини равен нулю, если же допустить гипотезу: что весь доход концентрируется у одного человека, коэффициент будет равен единице. Так что реально в той или иной стране К.Д. складывается между нулем и единицей, например в 2000 г. в России он был приблизительно равен 0,39, а в 2010 – 0,42 (или 42 %).
